Hi, my L4 seems to be stuck trying to do indexing.
Is there a way to manually restart indexing? Maybe by deleting some files?
Thanks
Shut down Logos (you will probably have to use Task manager to stop the Logos Indexer) and delete the contents of this folder (I'm on Win7 so your folder might be slightly different). The AppData folder is hidden so you will probably need to enable viewing hidden files to find it.
C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\<Random>\LibraryIndex
Restart Logos and it should start indexing again.

Yes there is, but it means indexing has to start from scratch. Before doing that it would be helpful to know if there's a reason indexing isn't working right this time:
There may be some other diagnostic questions that come up depending on how you answer these.

How do you do this when Logos installed as hidden files and I don't see the Appdata folder?
Open your Folder Options and it is one of the selections. If you've never use it before just type "folder options" into your Windows help file and it should tell you how.
Thanks, Kevin, I see the folders now....

Before doing that it would be helpful to know if there's a reason indexing isn't working right this time: Has Logos4 finished indexing the first time? (Note: this can take over 24hrs on some older systems with very large libraries.) How much free HDD space do you have? Which OS are you using? How much system RAM do you have? There may be some other diagnostic questions that come up depending on how you answer these.
Ok.
1. Yes L4 finished the first time.
2. I have about 100gb free on the drive that I installed L4 into
3. I'm using windows xp sp3
4. I have 3gb memory and using a core2duo e8400 3ghz processor with an nvidia geforce 8600gt
everything worked before, yesterday it wanted to do some indexing and there is where it got stuck.
I was trying to get my 3rd party speech engine to work with L4, but I don't think I touched anything from the L4 folder.
How do you know it was stuck indexing? What is happening now?
Do you see the little blue icon in the Windows taskbar? --> right click it, what does it say?
When you open L4 what messages do you see when you try a Basic Search?
