Deleted PB's are still in library

For some reason, even though I delete Personal Books and they no longer show in the PB list, they still appear in my library, and are still available as resources on my system. How do I get rid these??? Most of them are practice PB's that are junk, but I can't seem to get them truly deleted.

Do you have them on more than one device? If so, make sure you delete them with the PB tool on all devices. Hide those that are not in the PB tool on any device. Then close Logos on all devices except one and restart Logos on that one.

The way to reliably delete a Personal Book from your library is a 2 step process. There may be other ways, but I found this to be 100% reliable.

Step 1 - go into Tools/Personal Books, right click on the book you want to delete, and click Delete.

Step 2 - be sure Library Pane is not open (it may give some temporary false resource counts otherwise), and type Rebuild Personal Book Index in the command box at the top and hit Enter. Wait until the blue Logos indexing icon is gone from the system tray, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete as most people have under 200 personal books.

Step 3 - restart Logos.

Then Open up the Library pane, personal book is gone, resource count is properly updated!

You can delete multiple personal books in step one, one at a time, then proceed to step two to rebuild the index if you need to.

I found this to be 100% reliable.

I had hopes that the "Rebuild Personal Book Index" command would work, but it did not. As you can see below, I have 6 test PBs built, and none are shown in the PB tab listing. I deleted them days ago as in Step 1, have restarted Logos several times. These 6 test PBs were never compiled on my other computers. I need to check if they are maybe somehow listed there anyway due to synching, but I have never built them on any other computer. Furthermore, these 6 PBs still actually are present as resources on my computer. If I click on them from the library, I can open them up. So even though they have been deleted from the PB list, and I rebuilt the PB index, they are still on my computer.

I think you just need to hide them in the library (Ctrl-right-click, hide resource) and restart Logos.

This problem is been around since day 1 of PBs. It's certainly no priority for Logos. I was surprised at the sure-thing solution above (not Dominick, but rather the Logos coders).

Even after 'hiding' my deleted PBs they're still in the library (and in hiding too). So I gave them a tag of 'Deleted' and there they live until Logos dies.

I tried the control-right-click>Hidden, but they're not die-able.

Interestingly, if I use the library filter for the PB's title, the PB's not there. But I can see it without the filter.
