Hello,
I am very appreciative for Logos. It got me through seminary without stressing with going to libraries, etc. It is convenient and affordable. I love it.
However, what I do not understand is why there cannot be a basic, free upgrade that gives an individual a taste of what he could get if he upgraded to a larger package? At this point, I'm not interested in more books. I made a large investment at the beginning and went for platinum 2-3 years ago. Now, with Logos 5 being out, I would like to have the new system with my same library. Why is it not possible to upgrade for free and just not get any more resources/books when you upgrade?
When I buy a product or software (iPhone for example), in order to retain customers, the company allows for free updates to the system (example: going from version 4.1 to 4.2) but also allows for free upgrades (4.9 to 5.0) if the customer does not change his agreement or want to add any services, etc. I think that this is reasonable to consider. I'm not trying to weasel out of pennies, but I feel like it is a business practice that is in place for technological savvy companies already.
If I was given the free option to upgrade to the new version of logos with keeping my books "as is," and just allowing me to use some of the new functionalities of logos 5, it may end up allowing me to "taste and see" that I want to go a step further and upgrade my package from a platinum edition to diamond... or at least buy individual books or sets to play around with the new built-in features and interface.
