Logos just won't start and icon changed

Hello-

Today my icon was changed to looking like the program was removed. That windows generic icon. The program won't work (crashes before opening). I have rolled back in time to a month ago and the same thing happens. The icon appears while booting then changes to that empty icon. All snapshots do the same thing, though it was running fine yesterday and before.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall and that doesn't fix it either. Has anyone had this problem or heard of it?

Running Win 7 64bit Toshiba, avast Internet security--just for
background. Nothing is new or odd on the laptop and no virus or malware
has been detected by various scanners.

We need to see some logs to know what is happening. As per the wiki please upload error logs and logos4.log from just after a crash.

Dave,

I've done what you suggested (I think correctly). I zipped them but not sure that was needed as they didn't seem large, but did as the instructions said. All logs are in the file, nit just indexing.

If this isn't correct let me know.

This is a situation where I would recommend a reinstall, but you've already done that and I want this resolved as quickly as possible. So please get in touch with Logos Support who can logon to your computer to diagnose what is happening.

Yay! I figured it out thanks to the Logos Support link- http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/mac/install

Note- Non-ordering, existing users, skip the order process on the video and go straight to the download portion of the video. After copying the data to the Applications folder, make sure to move the Logos icon from your desktop to the trash. Then click on the Logos program from the Applications menu. In missing this step, my initial attempts at downloading were not working. With all sincerity, thank you, Logos, for providing simple, clear, and detailed instructions. That was how I was able to differentiate downloading Logos from other programs.
