I've noticed my L4 Timelines still appear in the Library. Are they supposed to be there, or are they supposed to be "merged" with the L5 Timeline?
Does the L4 Timelines contain any content that's not in the L5 Timeline?
Thanks!
The L5 Timeline feature pulls from tagged events in resources. I doubt there is any details in the holdover L4 timelines not in the big L5 timeline. However, sometimes a smaller, more targeted timeline will be better then the master tool so it's good to have both handy.
The L4 timelines should be there. You paid for them.
Can't say how much data is overlapping. I do notice in the L4 Israel's Kings Timeline that some of data is drawn from resources that have timeline markers in L5 (New Bible Dictionary, The Archeological Encyclopedia) but some are from resources not available in Logos (Finegan: Handbook of Bible Chronology, Whitcomb:Chart of Old Testament Kings and Prohets) and one that is available but not (so far) marked for timeline events in L5 (Bright: History of Israel).
Thanks guys for the answers. What I wasn't sure of was if Logos was going to do a "merge" with them or keep them separate (since I paid for them in L4, then again I paid for Biblical People, Places, and Things, and they got merged into BIble Facts, which I LOVE), or if the L5 Timelines contained all the same data as the L4 Timelines and I should "hide" the L4 Timelines for the sake of simplicity.
Seems I'm best leaving them unhidden, mostly referring to the L5 Timeline, then referring to the L4 Timelines when I need something more specialized.
Is that what you all recommend?
I have pretty much ignored the L4 timelines. Didn't care for their layout at all. Missed the L3 timelines during the time I used L4. The L5 one will get some use from me, esp. with all the tagging of resources Logos is doing.
Yeah, I may end up hiding them then, and bring them back if I need them. I'm going through my library right now, acquainting myself with my L5 books, tagging my books, creating a list of books in Logos I want to read, and hiding resources I have no interest in so I can "clean up" my library. I may hide the L4 timelines and stick with L5. I see me using L5's way more as well.
