Bug: Community highlights – empty highlights?

Love the community highlights filter, something weird going on here though:

Very strange. I am not seeing those labels in that location. You didn't happen to be indexing at the time?

No I wasn't indexing.
After seeing it a few time in different places I think I can reproduce it with some regularity by opening a book and flipping down several pages quite quickly (easiest to reproduce in paged view). If you then go back up through the pages you've brushed over I think what's happening is the visual filter labels for each section are getting bunched at the start of the section rather than appearing in the text.
Also while investigating this (doing as I've described) I triggered this crash once which I haven't seen before:
