How to Differentiate LBSPBB Files

After our recent discussion on backing up personal books I've taken the time to do so. Today I created another personal book and I want to get in the habit of backing up each book as I create them. The problem is that I don't know which LBSPBB file is associated with the book I created. To me the file names do not represent the specific book and appear to just be random numbers and letter. Does anyone know of a way to find out which book is associate with which LBSPBB file?

Is there a reason you are concerned About backing up the compiled resource? Is much more important to save the source material! You can always recompile the book later.

To answer your question more directly, can't you sort by date modified? The newest resources would be the newest date.

Agreeing with Alabama, but answering your question, the best way is the date stamp (which of course is tenuous if you compile several on the same day).

But 'historically', Logos is quite capable of destroying thousands of PBs (as with Libronix) and the criticality being to keep the original text (docx).

I don't think this addresses your question directly, but I have a separate folder where I save all my docx files I have converted to pbb. This way if I need to edit a pbb I can quickly find it.

When you open the PBB resource you go to the info page and at the bottom you can find the information you are looking for:

Great answers everyone. I too decided to backup both the source files and the PBB file so now I think I have a way to do that. The support info at the bottom of the page is what I wanted. Thanks!

It saves time. I have several hundred personal books. It will take a couple of days to have to recompile every book. Backing up the compile version allows me just to use the scan command.

That sounds like a good idea to me! For most people, I don't think it would be worth the hassle... although I do have 50 or so... perhaps I should back them up... nah. [:D]

Thanks, Bohuslav. I'd forgotten about that little tidbit.

I attacked my undeletable PB ONE MORE TIME by deleting the PB file itself (holding my breath that indeed that was the file name ... ha).

Then I re-started Logos5. Checked my library ... still there. But (and we ARE making progress), the library can't find the resource. Duh. Yes, I know, I could probably use some sort of scan command. But it would be so spiffy if Logos would simply match up the library db with the PB table. The query would be a micro-second, and logic would suggest TWO delete methods that need to be coordinated.

Actually I like it the way it is. When re-installing of Logos I haven't lost my info and metadata of my PBBs. I scanned the backuped copies of the files or just simply copied them to the Resources folder and it worked. No need to recompile. I look at the list of PBBs in the Personal books tab as at the list of projects (even if I temporarily do not have those books in my Library due to the re-install etc.) and the actual PBB books I have I can see in the Library. Am I making any sense?
