Getting very frustrated again.

Everything was ok, Logos five was working better than version 4, much better-Until today.

Lasted "update" downloaded, did it;s deal and I thought all was still well. Then I used the "inline" Interlinear because Logos took Louw-Nida out of the bottom box.

Logos is now terrible at Scrolling again and I can't get it back to normal.

Have turned everything "off" . All Visual Filters off, all Link Sets off, shut down all Guides. Still the scrolling is sluggish, stops, jerks, if you try to scroll "back" it sticks, then over-runs horribly.

Trying to type in a scripture reference and there is a horrible lag between typing and it showing up in box, typing in a search query is the same.

Shut down Logos, re-started it-no change.

Can no longer set up workflows as Logos just does not have any responsivness now, everything "behind, all scrolling is very poor.

Books opened in a floating panel cannot be read as scrolling just "runs away" thus changing lines or paragraphs cannot be done. Try to move up or down page causes it to scroll whole page/s at a time.

Frustrating.

5 gigs of Ram open and not in use currently.

Will try computer re-boot to see if that "clears" Logos.

Report tomorrow.

No lag issues here. In general I have found L5 to be much faster.

I did however have my 10th crash yesterday since I upgraded three weeks ago. I'm altering the way I am using L5 more and more to see if I can isolate the problem. Since I spend hours on it studying at a time, I am working most of the time offline now. My theory is that the crummy internet here does not make L5 happy when it has repeated failed attempts to 'phone home' to the cloud. Practically this is a suitable situation, other than there is not an easy way to go back online to sync other than close everything and restart the program.

I haven't personally experienced any lag, but do recall one Mac user reporting this after first upgrading. I understand that shutting down and restarting the Mac addressed the issue on that occasion. I appreciate this is a very unMac like solution to a very unMac like problem [:D], but it may be worth a shot.

This is, of course, a complete shot in the dark. It would be best to upload your logs for review.

Yep, this seems to have corrected the issue here as well.

Seems Logos is not accessing all my ram and is "hanging" what it is using.

Restarting program did not fix it, but restarting MacBook does.

Strange.

Was not happening before the service release.

You should be able to get the LN back by right mouse clicking on the interlinear display and reselecting the LN. Screenshot shown below.

I do think there are memory leak issues that cause problems with L5 with extended use. Opening and closing L5 as well as rebooting occasionally appear to resolve these matters until Logos can identify and plug the leak.

The last update may have added some community notes to faithlife. Try turning offcommunity or faithlife notes in all your resources and then just open them for those you want to actually use them for. I have mine turned off for all resources. Here is a screen shot of how to do it:

George: Agreed on RI , however, not being a person who reads greek well at all, what I am used to doing is having NASB open "side by side" with the NA 27 so that when I hover or click in one, it highlights the other text at the appropriate word/phrase. I can work with that pretty well.

But I do like the drop-down as it gets my to louw-nida really quickly and easily.

Not a bad way to handle it though it would be even better to have your "pony" underneath the original. Do you have BDAG? If not, I would recomment getting it. The best deal, if you are going to be working with Hebrew texts is the BDAG/HALOT bundle (The EBDB is also good, but not quite up to date with the latest discoveries).
