Question on Notes and Clippings

I would like to know if there is a way to do this:

When I highlight some text in a book, that highlighted notes will be saved in the note file that I prefer to save, as the picture shows below:

But, is there a way when I highlight, for the text to go into the "clippings" document, instead of notes document, besides the right click and "Add clippings to ...." ?

I'm not sure for what you are asking. First, what's wrong with the right-click to get to clippings? Second, what preferred method do you want to see?

There is nothing wrong with the right-click. I am just asking if there is any other way to add the selected parts of text to the clipping file, instead of the - right-click and then add to the clipping file. What happens to the highlighted parts of text when we highlight them? They go to the file that we want to add them to, right? So, that is what I am asking about.

If you are talking about highlighting text, nothing happens until we either right-click and add it to a note file, clippings, etc. Or, we can highlight and click on a highlighter style, and that sends the text to a highlight file. So it is effectively the same number of clicks.

If you want the same function for clippings, I'd suggest adding a clippings shortcut to the shortcut bar, then try highlighting some text and clicking on that, and see if that works (I've never tried it). That's the only alternative I can think of, but then, I'm not one of the 'power users'...they may have an easy solution.
