It looks like Logos has uploaded the new L4 files that have now been rebuilt for L3 to the the FTP site.
Well, some. 50 titles have been added today. Need about 175 to complete my Silver Library
Can you list the resources you know of that were added today? We can add them to the convenient download page on the wiki.
Blessings,
Francis
L4 Files for L3? does it mean L3 resource ported to L4, or L4 resource ported to L3?
You'll need to decipher the filenames!
BLIN/BLIOT = Bible Lessons Int series
BLIYOUCAN = You Can Understand the Bible!
It's the new books that were released for L4, originally they had a logos4 file extension and wouldn't work on L3. People who upgraded their base packages to the new L4 recieved a lot of new books. But we had to wait for Logos to recompile them into L3 format to be able to use them in L3.
See http://wiki.logos.com/LE_Resources_for_Logos_3 for a list of resources with download links (122 resources listed to date).
Logos have put up considerably more since my post:
Now 175 new books and I'm about 50 books short of my Silver collection.
How do we download these books, manually or there is a update resource script we can run?
I seem to remember Logos mentioned something like providing a download script.
Bradley was whipping it up. It was going to be ready early in the week of November 9th!

The old resource update script seemed to download a few for me. I tried it right after the 1st post and it picked up the ESV Rev Int and a couple others.... I'll try it again in a little while since more have been added...
Dave, if you have discovered new files since yesterday, would you mind posting another list and I will update the download page.
I think it's awesome that the resources we've purchased for Logos 4 can be downloaded and used in Logos 3 - since I still use it also.
But, is there an easy way to download all that apply to me and the licenses I have. For instance, a file we can download that will search through this long list and download only those that I have a license to use.
Just thought I'd ask.

Perhaps the script will come out next week or perhaps next year. If we can't wait (considering the many fronts that Logos is working on right now), here is a method that works though it involves a couple more (not difficult) steps:
Note: if you want to update your libronix collections, a method consists in removing your regular resource path from Libronix and just have it read the new resources (this will show only the new resources). Add them to your collections as needed/wanted. When done, add back your normal resource path and refresh resources to have all the resources (old and new) back.

This does not help those who have upgraded packages.
I'm gradually working my way down the list. I'm up to "G"
Damian that should work even for upgraded packages. You have to first sync your licenses in L3 then it should recognize everything on the cd/dvd
Frank, what does not "work" is just downloading the latest files (I did do this, but I'm still a couple of thousand items short).... I would have to download almost everything considering my jump from OL to Portfolio. It's less bandwidth threatening to just work my way through the list alphabetically...
Update script:

Note: the script only works insofar as Logos has updated it to work. Going directly from the FTP may give you more resources.

Damian, for new files from the upgrade that you received that were already in V3 format, you should be able to just grab those files from you OL cd/dvd package. Then run update and it will grab the latest and greatest for those files.
For the new release resources that were not a part of V3 - you should just download the files on the ftp server from 10/2009 to 12/2009 and burn them to a cd/dvd then Location Manager will grab any of the new resources....
Frank.. Doh! Here I am downloading everything and I didn't just import from my v4 directory....
Obviously suffering from brain meltdown in this tropical climate...
I am not sure Damian why you say this does not work for those who upgraded packages. I upgraded and used this method profitably. What do you find impractical with it?
As I just wrote to Frank, I had not imported the v3 files from my v4 directory..... brain meltdown....
