Adding Citations to Bibliography

I don't know if this has been addressed before, but I am having a problem adding citations to the bibliography. When I copy a citation from a resource by clicking the copy button, then go to the bibliography, click add and select clipboard, nothing happens.

That is what I experience in checking this, as well. I don't see it mentioned anywhere as a known issue. It may well be a bug.

Thanks Mark. The same thing happens when trying to add from history as well. Is there a place to report this or will someone check the forum?

Somebody might see it. But you could post these issues under a new thread in the L5 forum starting the title to the thread with the word Bug.

Thanks Mark, I will do that. I found a workaround by using the add, collection, open resources. However, it would be much easier if it worked properly. I am preparing to write a paper for class.

Add Citations from Clipboard appears to do something that one might not expect it to do:

If you select and copy some random text from any open resource and then go to a Bibliography and click Add ... clipboard, it adds the citation for that resource which you copied from. Not (as I might have expected) any bibliographic citations that it finds within the clipboard contents.

My disappointment with this feature was that I tried to go to the bibliography of a resource, select it all, and then add those citations to a Bibliography document using Add ... clipboard, and it didn't do what I wanted. It put in just the citation of the book containing the bibliography.

I'm not sure the feature as it currently is implemented is very useful. Or at least it needs to be explained better in the UI and an additional feature which does what we're talking about (add citations that are in the clipboard contents, including if you just copied one citation by using the Copy command in a resource's info panel) needs to be added.

You are correct. It doesn't function the way we would think it should. Thank you for your valuable input. I am learning a lot from these forums.
