Firstly I have to scroll down from the definite article. Then on to the lemma for betrayed but it does not bring up the usual selection of options - for example Bible Word Study etc.
Can anyone help please?
Hi Colin
It works as expected for me - running Logos 5.0a on Windows 7
What platform are you running on and with which version of Logos?
Are you able to post a screenshot showing what you get? (Details at http://wiki.logos.com/Screenshot)
Graham
Graham,
jumpin' in here (I'm not at my Logos machine): you look at John 3, the OP asked about John 18 - maybe the tagging there is different?
Mick
"betrayed" is aligned to "ὁ παραδιδοὺς" in this verse, so both words will appear on the context menu. (I think we have a case in our bugtracker to automatically select the word that is not an article when there are multiple words, but this hasn't been implemented yet.)
When you click the lemma for "παραδίδωμι", please double-check that you are selecting the Lemma, and not Manuscript or Root; these other items will not show a BWS command on the context menu.

Hi Mick
Thanks for pointing that out- apologies for that[:$]
I had actually taken the screenshot of John 18:2 but posted the wrong one (I was looking at John 3 yesterday)! However, the same still applies.
I know this isn't going to help the OP, however I'm getting the same result as Graham using Logos 5 Mac:

That would definitely be welcome.[:)]
Hi Bradley, the problem is in John 18:2 & 18:5 there is actually no Lemma option for betrayed.
What is wrong?
Sorry guys. I did not communicate well. The problem is that there is no Lemma option for betrayed when right clicking in John 18:2 or !8:5. I am using windows 7 and Logos 4.

Please click the information buttion (i) (upper right of the resource pane), and copy/paste the support info at the bottom to this thread.
You should see this:

Very strange - I can see one
Can you post a screenshot showing what you see.

I am using Windows 7 and Logos 5 - but I wouldn't expect this to be causing the difference.
It is possible that there is a tagging error in the version of the ESV you have

Richard - I think I remember seeing that the information for L4 resources is different (older) but I could be wrong.
But agree having that information will be useful[:)]

Yes, I'm not sure what the most recent L4 version is. But the info is important, in case there is an outdated version in play here.
The other obvious diagnosis is a corrupt Bible index. But it is simpler to rule out a version issue first.
I also agree that a screen shot would be helpful - if only to confirm what he's seeing.

If its the index, I believe" /rebuild index " (minus the quotes and space before the / and after the x)
Beware though, this can take a substantial amount of time if you have a significant number of resources, or an older computer (or worse - both). My 3 year old computer re-indexes my library in about 30-45 minutes. I have a bit over 3000 resources. So I wouldn't recommend kicking this off right before you need to use logos for something.
The Bible index (and the personal book index) is now separate from the rest of the Library index. The command rebuild Bible index is what would be required.
I was hoping though that someone with an up to date version of the ESV in Logos4 could check to see if these files need to be updated or not. If they do the update resources command should fix it.
This could be tried anyway, though it will take some time. If nothing new is found you could then try the rebuild Bible index command, which will also take some time.
Dear Richard, thanks for your help. Which box or section would you enter the command rebuild Bible index or update resources please? I tried rebuild Bible index in the command box and nothing happened.
That's the only place the command can be entered. You say nothing happened? Are you sure? As you type in the command, it should appear in the drop down list under Tools (on my system I see it when I type the "i" of "index"), you can select it from there.
If you don't see the command, or it does not begin indexing your Bibles (you should see an icon in the Windows system tray), can you confirm which version of Logos4 you are running? If it is not 4.6a-SR4, please update Logos first.
Also, did you try the update resources command?
EDIT: of the two commands, which will both take time to run, I'd recommend running update resources first, since if rebuild Bible index doesn't resolve the issue, the other command might - and it would then trigger a rebuild of your indexes anyway.
Dear Richard,
I have tried rebuild Bible index and update resources. I have now managed to achieve the required result on my windows 7 desktop pc, but not my windows 7 i3 processor with 8gb of DDR ram laptop. So thank you for helping. That does not make any logical sense to me!
Happy Christmas from a cold sunny Bournemouth UK

Just to double-check.
Did you do "rebuild Bible index" and "update resources" on both machines?
Graham, no, I only did rebuild Bible index on my desktop!
Suggest you do your laptop as well - they maintain separate indices. In fact, all the resources and associated databases are separate on each system on which you run Logos.
