Missing 279 volumes. . .

Greetings,

I have a question concerning missing volumes. I had 4667 volumes in my library a day ago. I recently purchased a work composed of several volumes, and also L5 had some updates to download. No problem. However, the website says one number and my library says another number: the difference is about 279 volumes less in my library.
Website: 4651 (a few days ago it said: 4667)
Library: 4372 (a few days ago it said: 4666).

What happened? Any suggestions?

Then how should I explain that my count several days ago did have about 4666 volumes? And now there are only 4372?
I understand about the datasets, but how could it change in one day after an update?

Are you going off of memory, or did you write down those numbers? [I would never have remembered the number count, but I know other people are different about things like this]. Is your library filtered in any way? Have you hidden any resources lately?

I wrote the numbers from the library on L5. Usually I look at the resources because I want to make sure that it does not go down, but up.
The library is not filtered in any way. I have 'not' hidden any resources. Last night I bought one book with four volumes and L5 did an update.
After this event, the numbers changed. In fact prior to this event, the numbers on the web was actually very close to the numbers in my library on L5.
I am somewhat confused as to why the numbers changed after an update! I will look again this evening closely making sure I did not filter anything. I'm sure I did not but just to make sure, I will look at it again.
And yes, I do look at this number every day when I open up L5. With over 4000 resources, the last thing I want to do is to loose count and not know what I have in my library.

Ah ... just 'one more reason' Logos should provide users with 'something' to demonstrate what the own (have rights to). "Trust us!!" Sure.

In another thread, they're discussing 'shrink'. In retail 'shrink's' number one cause is processing error. (Then depending on the chain, it's employee/supplier followed by customers). But in this case, a user 'should' be able to monitor their property as they could with Libronix.

What L5 base Library do you have? How many files in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\randomId\ResourceManager\Resources?

Hi Dave,

The folder location states that there is 4453 items. I contacted tech support by email. I have yet to hear from them. Even this number is greater than my library.

Knowing your base package would have helped but you can subtract roughly 84 - 94 from 4453 to get the number of Library resources in your folder. If you have Personal Books then subtract that number again (*.lbspbb in your folder). Max you have is 4453-84 = 4369

Max you have is 4453-84 = 4369

This close to what your Library count indicates 4369 vs 4372. Therefore, if there are any missing they had to "disappear" from your resources folder and the best way to to resolve that is the "update resources" command. If that doesn't produce extra resources then you have to get Logos to check your licence.

Hi Dave,

I spoke with Tech support and they could not explain the difference between the numbers. Although they did say that there is a difference between the online count and the library count on the PC and also between datasets and volumes or resources.
It seems to me that I will have to do a screen shot every week just to keep a record of the number. I understand the difference in count, but to miss 279 is just unclear for me. My next step is to count and read line by line my resources online and compare them with my library in my PC. As I mentioned to Tech support, the change in number came when an update was installed.

Well I guess I will have to continue in this mystery. Next time I purchase I will screenshot my screen!!
