Smart Tags

I was a frequent user of "smart tags" with Logos 3 and Word 2003, but now I have switched to Logos 4 and Word 2007, does any one know how to make "smart tags" work?

I have reloaded Logos 3 so I have both Logos 3 and 4 on my laptop and I have downloaded the script found under Logos 3 but "smart tags" will not work.

This is a very helpful tool! I would sincerely like to have it working.

sounds like you need to enable them in Word. if you have installed smart tags from http://www.logos.com/articleviewer/530 then go to word, select the button in the upper left corner, select proofing, select....hummm I'm on the 2010 beta so I'm a bit fuzzy on where to go from here, but you might see "SmartTags" somewhere around this point. If not search help for smarttags. Once you find the menu just make sure there is a check mark beside the logos smart tags. As I recall it I had to close down word or even restart my computer before I could get them working at this point.

EDIT: by the way, smarttags currently only work through L3, so if you use them it will automatically open L3 if it isn't already open.

This isn't possible yet. Bob didn't realize the number of people who used the smartags and system try features so they are looking into it from what I understand.

They work, but Microsoft has royally messed smart tags up. You have to enable in the Trust Center. It no longer gives the purple dots for smart tags.

The passages has to be selected and then right clicked. You then have to go to Actions. After you finally ferret it out Logos options, you'll find that it no longer lists replace with passage! You can copy passage, etc. Even if it were there, smart tags are inept in Office 2010 with this behavior. What a step backwards! Make sure to give it a frown for the beta feedback as this behavior for smart tags stinks. With enough feedback, hopefully they will fix this. It's best to stick with Office 2007 for now.

This one of Logos best features. I can't wait for them to get it up and running for Logos 4.

Thanks for reminding me about that frown. I will give it one. I like the smart tags but I doubt many people use them. Even if every Logos user used them it would still only be a small fraction of Offices' base.

From what I have seen on these forums there are actually quite a number of people complaining about the lack of Smart Tag support in Logos 4.0.

Instructions on Office 2010 SmartTags:

1. Install Logos 3x & Smart Tags Update.
2. In Word 2010: File>Options>Proofing>AutoCorrect Options>Actions tab>check Logos Bible Software>OK>OK
3. Type reference: Additional Actions>Copy Bible Verses..>Copy and Paste

If Bob did not know that means that the usage statistics were not collected for this feature or they were wrong!
