BUG: Display issues

When I returned to my computer, after about 2 hours, I switched to the Logos4 screen and saw this.At first it was all blank. Then moving my mouse over the screen began to draw some of the stuff you see in this screen shot (reduced to 1/2 size to save space). This is a full screen shot.

A moment later, after doing the 1st screen shot I got this one (only right most pane shown).

The screen returns to normal after minimizing and restoring.

This is on my main machine, now running 4.0a Beta 2(4.0.3.3487). I did notice this on SR7 as well, but it was rare and I wasn't always in a work-flow place to report it.

System specs: Dell Studio XPS 435MT; Win7 64bit Home Premium ; 6GB DDR3 RAM; 465GB free HD space on C:\; CPU: Intel i7-920 2.67GHz (8MB L3 cache); Video ATI Radeon HD 4850 (512MB)

I've seen the same thing, but thought it was some artifacts of my video card not being nifty enough. However any method I've used to take a screen shot actually shows a completely and correctly drawn screen.

I'm not sure what to make of it, nor how to replicate it.

It occurs after leaving my computer unattended for a while. Two things happen when I do that. Google Photos Screensaver runs, and Norton does some background scanning. There's probably some other stuff going on as well, who knows. I suspect the Google Photos Screensaver, which does some zoom and pan, two different photos (one for each monitor - very cool), so the video RAM gets filled up and doesn't completely reset on ending the screensaver. I may try a blank (boring) screen saver and see if that helps.

This is most likely a video driver problem. WPF (the new UI technology that Logos 4 uses) is implemented with DirectX, so it has the potential to stress-test and find bugs in parts of the video driver code that don't typically get used on a non-game-playing Windows desktop. (And most games run full-screen, which is different from running in a window on your desktop.) Updating your video drives to the latest version from the manufacturer's website (if you haven't already) may help the problem.
