Links to Open Panels Information Please

Recently this old post from Steve surfaced. Rather than hop on to that particular thread I decided to start a new one. I really like the linking to open panels feature; however, I do not understand the concept and the mechanism precisely and would like to research the information. I checked the Logos 5 help file and Wiki.Logos.com and couldn't find a major article on the subject. Is there someone who could give me a bit of guidance, please?

This might be Links to open panels being turned ON somewhere.

1. Click on the Visual Filter icon
2. Right-click on Links to open panels, and in the drop down menu click on Do not show in any resources.

To to get a definition for the Greek word circled below, the lexicon opens and Phil 3.8 is highlighted because the lexicon has the reference (link) to an open panel (the GNT bible). So it will also indicate a context sensitive meaning for the Greek word (particularly if it has several meanings).
