TIP: Using Text Comparison to See Text Notes

OK ... I didn't know this, I didn't see it explained in the wiki but there is a screen print showing it even in L4?

When I'm studying I almost always have my Bibles set to 'Text Only' so each line is a verse. I keep a bunch open and quite frankly I literally can't see the verse numbers. Go figure. It's a Bible!

But when you use 'Text Only', the little notes disappear. That's not good and I don't use the lookups, information panels etc since I'm on 5 different windows.

But for some odd reason if you use the Text Comparison panel and you set it to the left-A, the little notes ALL APPEAR for ALL the versions. WOW. I don't care about the 'differences' since it's kind of a nutty exercise in english (luckily they're in grey and not really clear). But I DO want to see ALL THE NOTES on ALL THE VERSIONS. AT THE SAME TIME!

Peace and Blessing for the Day, Denise! I have been struggling to set my Bibles so that I cannot see the verse numbers and am having great difficulty in doing so! In fact it's impossible for me! How do you do that? *smile* Just heading out to an appointment having spent way too much time on this; however, now you have me intensely curiouser and curiouser as to how it could done!

Actually, I was COMPLETELY wrong (!) about the verse notes. I just love Logos, it's so badly documented. I know, I know ... try to be positive. Actually the little notes in the comparison are NOT from the Bible version being displayed; they're from Logos! So for example on the AV1873, there's notes but if you look at the AV1873 itself, it's a different set of notes. Same for Emphasis Bible.

So I guess, the itty-bitty notes symbols on one view of the Comparison Panel is a mystery person's opinions. I get so tired of this. Maybe this is an 'undocumented feature'!! (It's the only way 'I' can find that displays these notes!) I'm sorry ... this is even worse.

Regarding the verse numbers, the verse numbers are 'there'. But they're so tiny, they're hard to distinguish between the notes numbers/letters. I don't know why they bother (as you can see I'm not in a good mood with all this egg on my face).

I think Logos is trying to be so easy to use, neither you (no numbers!!) or me (numbers!!) is happy.

Now I'm the broken record that never stops, but I just switched over to look at Libronix; the verse numbers are there 'clear as day'! (But of course wouldn't satisfy a person's preference for no verse numbers.) AND of course the Libronix comparison panel doesn't have the mystery notes. AND ... it has an export button to kindly move the comparisons over to sentence diagramming all ready for analysis... isn't that convenient?!

I guess my study habits of having several english translations of older manuscripts to glance at drives my preferences (e.g. LXX, DSS, Peshitta, DR, Coptics, etc). (And my desire to have Logos quit yanking the chain of its users Growl !!.)

My apologies, Denise! I was wondering HOW it could be done! NOT that I wanted that for Bible Study, not at all. I'm constantly trying to learn the in's and out's of the Software I'm using! When I read your post, I was quite surprised that you could do that; and I couldn't see how .......... ... SO(!) that's why I was struggling to set my Bibles so that I could not see the verse numbers...
