Hoehner on Ephesians is coming!!! Repeat I say!!! Ahh, but...

A few other highly sought after resources were only available this way as prepubs, but soon after the collection was released the individual volume became available. Horton's "The Christian Faith" comes to mind immediately.

So I'll hold out hope that the same happens with this, certainly one of the most excellent commentaries on any portion of scripture. Similarly I'm still waiting for the prepub containing Beale's NT Theology to be released with the hope Beale will be freed from bondage to the collection.

Seems to be a trend with Baker titles that "discounts" are only available for bundles: so we might indeed expect to see individual volumes in this bundle available seperately almost as soon as they are published: but available individually without the discount....... [:(]

So unless you want most of the titles in this bundle, may as well wait... only a couple could be considered freebies if you buy the rest at full price...

Is it just me or is this rather an "odd" grouping of individual commentaries in this bundle ?

I'm excited for Hamilton's volume on Exodus; his Genesis commentary in the NICOT series is quite good, and I expect this will be similar.

Exodus – Hamilton(2011) – not ranked (too recent?) but his Genesis ranked 2
Gospel of Mark – Moloney(2012) – not ranked (earlier works: not ranked(John 1998), ranked 19 (Mark 2002))
Gospel of John – Keener (2010) – not ranked (earlier 2002 version, same title, ranked 4)
Lamentations – Allen(2011) – not listed
Minor Prophets – McComiskey (editor)(2009) – not listed (five authors, does not identify who did which book)
New Testament – Gundry(2010) - not listed

The Best Commentaries ratings would seem to reflect the sentiments expressed here; top ratings for Hoehner (Ephesians) and Keener (John) and high expectations re Hamilton (Exodus), not so sure about the rest..........

... I have Hermeneia and Continental. Like I said in: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/48622/439505.aspx#439505 I feel that the Baker Academic set complements what I have.

I've wanted to buy (some) more Believer's Church Bible Commentary volume(s), so yesterday I finally decided to buy: 1 and 2 Thessalonians (some of the BCBC volumes have been slightly lowered, like I said in: Lowered prices on individual purchases on commentary-volumes + 2 books that I've read).
Especially now since some ICC volumes have been significantly lowered, I was thinking of getting one more, and what just now appealed to me, was: A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on the Pastoral Epistles.

Then I can study pretty much anything.
