How deep is Lake Ontario? This is how much of Toronto would surface if it were located at the lake’s deepest point (244m). The perspective makes a number of buildings look closer to the surface than they would be, but apart from that it’s pretty accurate!
Lake Ontario is massive. With a surface area of nearly 19,000 km2 and an average depth of 86 metres, this ‘Great Lake’ is the 14th largest in the world. People who live in Toronto are more often than not well acquainted with its ocean-like presence along the city’s waterfront.
Many, however, have no idea just how deep Lake Ontario gets. While the area directly visible in front of Toronto beyond the inner harbour ranges from 120 to 140 metres deep (the height of a 40-story residential building!), further east the basin reaches depths of up to 244 metres.

I'm from Sweden, EU. I'm born in Finland, then moved to Sweden 1992, and moved back to Finland as an adult and kept moving back and forth, then settled first in the northernmost county of Sweden, then in Uppsala (Sweden) and then in Sollentuna (Sweden) where I live now since nearly 5 years in the same appartment and am going to continue to. I'm a Swedish citizen only.
Ethnically I'm "Finlandssvensk" - they are Finnish people who have Swedish as mother's tongue and exist as a minority in Finland + have an own island: Åland.
I'm looking for friends! (You can easily find my Christianforums profile - send me a PM there.) From this area where I live or Helsinki would be nice. But users from north Wales, northeast England, southeast England, southwest Engand, (of course London) and Northern Ireland are especially welcome. (I'm not going to update my Logos profile for a while - when I'm updating it I will say there what I've started to study and perhaps a bit more about what books if there's space for that which I doubt there is.)

My florida home is right near the coast. In fact its on a fresh water canal that leads to the Gulf of Mexico. I've spent a significant amount of time at my uncles place on a lake in florida:This was taken at sunrise this past 4th of july weekend. Brisbane is quite a large area. The below map gives a rough perspective with the red cross on it roughly marking the region where the above aerial shot, looking out to Bramble Bay would be located. While earlier photo of the city centre would be roughly where the word Brisbane appears on this map.

Okay, wanted to jump in on this fun thread!
I'm originally from USA (OH, KY, NM, PA and FL) but have been in gByEkLpAhRvUcS for about 7 years. (If you ignore the small letters, you can read where I am. Have to be a bit careful security-wise.). Basically we are here to help the children as much as we can, particularly through adoption. We live in what is for all practical purposes a dictatorship, so its kind of a challenge at times as we don't have much freedom.
I don't really have any pretty pictures to show...(and I really don't know how, or whether it is secure). But there isn't anything particularly attractive here in my view (although the capital has some nice buildings). Others might see it differently. I try, but life here can be pretty hard for people, and things are really primitive and run-down by Western standards. I can be spoiled sometimes [:(] But I can say that God has really, really blessed us.
In any case, i have the most beautiful wife in the world, so that makes up for it! I still have something beautiful to look at every day... and this beauty comes with true spiritual beauty as well! Plus, this year we were able to adopt a little girl (the first of what we hope will be many)! She makes it all worth the trials and sufferings we've endured in the process.
Logos has been an amazing blessing to me. I lost my very large print library about ten years ago, and built up my Logos library slowly to replace it (still working on that!). But to have access to such a library in my rural, primitive circumstances is just amazing and is an incomparable blessing! Study has always been my easiest path to closeness with God. My spiritual life would suffer greatly without the opportunity to read and study and to have my library with me.
We have recently moved to an old village house in what is for here a really nice village. (if someone can tell me how to post a pic securely, i can try to send that). We have had to remodel it to make it liveable, which has been quite a challenge (especially putting a foundation under the place, as there wasn't any before). Right now, there isn't a roof, but we have a couple of guys working on it. We've had a couple of feet of snow and it was minus 15 C when we got up this a.m... and winter is just starting. But I'm excited that we will (hopefully) have a roof for Christmas!
Now, if we can just get... floors!!

I would love to visit Canada, and US also especially to catch up with my many Logos friends in both, and of course to take in the breath taking scenery that God created. Sweden was also be cool to visit Unix, anywhere really there was fellow Logos users. I have family connections in UK, specifically Scotland where my Dad was born so that's a no brainier on the places to visit. Ok so I probably won't make all those places so appreciate everyone sharing their pictures of where they call home.

Japan has a special place in my heart since my sister and her husband were missionaries there for 37 years. They often spoke of going to Karuizawa for missionary retreats. I hear that it is a beautiful place so I can understand why you would reminisce.
Greetings from Czech Republic, Český Těšín (former Teschen). The first thing you see when coming to our city is the famous Upper Gate Church (1709), the one Moravian Brethren were largely attending before many of them emigrated to Count Zinzendorf's Herrnhut. It is the largest Lutheran church in Poland (it is on the Polish side of our city. The border is on the river.)

I had a friend who did some work with the kyrgyz a number of years ago. Surprised to find mention of Logos and that country in the same sentence however, things must have become somewhat more relaxed?
Born in Florida - but I've used Logos in 10 countries, and 26 states (and never west of the mississippi - not yet any way).
