Yes - you never lose any books you have previously purchased.
Also if you upgrade to L5 Silver be sure to get the Minimal Crossgrade, and get it after the Silver upgrade. Doing so will get you the data sets and tools up to Gold level, and only for around $6. It is very worthwhile.

Seriously, you lose nothing from L4 and any books you own that are part of the L5 package will lower your upgrade price.

A friend upgraded to Logos 5 Silver, then purchased Minimal Crossgrade for less than $ 7 to add Bible Sense Lexicon.

Exactly what I did a few days ago. Upgrade L4 Scholar to L5 Silver and then Min Crossgrade to add Bible Sense for about $6.

The discussion above is primarily about getting from L4 to L5 Silver and then adding the Bible Sense Lexicon on top.
If you want to upgrade to L5 Gold then the cheapest way to do it is in one go.
Please bear in mind that the upgrade discounts expire on 2 January.

To get L5 Silver with Bible Sense it is cheaper to upgrade first then add the crossgrade. If you crossgrade first and then upgrade you will definitely pay more. L5 Gold includes the Bible Sense so I doubt you need to do the crossgrade after upgrading, but you should look carefully at the resources to make sure you end up with what you need.
