NIV Bible in L4

The various L4 base packages include a number of Bibles, one of which is the NIV.

Previously there were licence issues in making this available outside of the US. Is this still the case or has this now been resolved and all of the titles listed in the various package definitions are available globally?

I shouldn't be so glib.

I assume all the licensing restrictions still apply since Zondervan doesn't have the right to sell the NIV outside of North America. Besides, if you got this outside the U.S., just think of all the spelling mistakes you'd have to put up with.

Perhaps Logos has negotiated a deal with the international publishers of the NIV to allow this.

I previously did not have NIV due to licencing restrictions; now I do have it in Logos 4... So I guess whatever the issue was before must have been sorted out...

I too now have the NIV whereas I wasn't allowed to have it before under version 3. I've had to purchase separately the NIV - Anglicised edition which was licensed through Harper & Collins. I just hope that when the NIV interlinear is released it will work with my Anglicised edition too.

You can purchase the NIV, TNIV & NIRV with the base package in V4. However outside of the base package the restriction continues. See this thread http://community.logos.com/forums/t/2361.aspx?PageIndex=5 for Dan's comments also copied below. Ted

Mark, we have still not received permission to sell the NIV Family of Bibles outside of the USA and Canada but we are working on it. There is no way to know how long it will take. The contract has already been circling the globe for quite some time.

As you have been reading, the NIV is included in most new base packages, and if you take into consideration the price of the NIV Family Bundle at $79.95 for just three Bibles, (perhaps only one of which you actually were looking for) and the price to upgrade to Scholar's Library from your Original Languages Library for not much more, it may be the best decision to simply upgrade to Scholar's Library as a way to get what you are looking for right away (plus so much more).
