Logos 5 will not open in Windows 8

I'm not sure it is a Windows 8 problem since I have been having this problem ever since upgrading to Logos 5.

When I click on the Logos 5 icon the Logos box opens and after a few moments goes away and Logos is not loaded. I have attached the Logos Log files.

I believe that Logos5 only works on the final release version of
Windows8. If you have some other version, or if you're trying to run it
on certain tablets, Logos may not run properly.

According to your logs the problem is in the library catalog database. Found here: C:\Users\James\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\ctc2qwax.l4c\LibraryCatalog\catalog.db. You could try temporarily moving or renaming 'catalog.db' and see if that forces a rebuild of the database (I'm not sure, so if someone else has a better idea, listen the them).

Forgot to say that I have tried Working Offline and this is what I get:

Logos Bible Software 5 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution
is available. "Close the Program"

Thanks, Richard, I moved the file to my Desktop and Logos has been Preparing my Library for several minutes now. Guess it will take a while with nearly 4,000 resources. Sure hope this takes care of it.

Strange, I first tried to rename the file and got the message it couldn't be done because Carbonite (my backup program) was using the file. Checked in Carbonite and I have no Logos files tagged for Carbonite. Oh well, moving the file seemed to do the trick, at least it does for now.

You need to prevent this interaction with Carbonite -> it's default seems to be continual automatic backup in the background, so specifically exclude the \Logos4 folder OR backup on a schedule when Logos is not running.

Thanks Dave, guess I need to call Carbonite to see how I can exclude Logos. I specifically did not choose to have it backed up, but I'm not familiar with how to Exclude Logos. I saw no reason to have Logos backed up by Carbonite since Logos has all my database anyway.
