Passage List Memorize shows only one verse at a time

I really like the new Memorize feature.  Great enhancement.  One problem though. I've created a passage list where one passage may be two or more verses. But when I go to memorize a passage of scripture, say Psalm 103:1-4, I'm stuck seeing only one verse at a time. I think it would be better to work on the whole thing.

Also, I see no reason for the font size to be so large, but maybe that's just me.

I completely agree with you!! Hopefully logos will eventually change that and allow more then one verse. I remember in Bible College when you had to memorize a couple chapters even. So yes and amen i say to more verses then just one!!

This is definitely on our list of future enhancements for the Passage List memorisation tool (but we don't currently have an estimated date for when it will be available).

That sounds great. Thank you for the information. It would be nice to have features similar to this:

It is a Qur'an memorization tool. But I think we have much to learn from the muslims when it comes to memorization. They are masters at it and they memorize the Qur'an at a very early age and are able to recall it from with incredible accuracy.

I was wondering if some of you could look into what makes muslims so successful at memorizing their whole book. Maybe we could borrow some of their methods that they use to memorize their scriptures? My thought is, if they can memorize the whole Qur'an. We certainly can memorize the whole new testament in about the same amount of time. Can't we? :)

Bradley, I completely understand! I work in IT as a Support Engineer and formerly a programmer. I've had to explain the same thing to business folks.  I really appreciate the hard work you all put in to make an awesome tool even better.  I wish I could help.

    Blessings to you all.

    Alexander,

Thanks for sharing that link. I watch a couple of lessons and you are right. They have memorization down.  I really have a lot of hope for the one in Logos 5.

    Bradley,

Are there plans for adding this to IPad/Iphone app?

    Blessings from above.

Thank you for the memorization feature! It works as-is in many cases and has great potential for other cases.

However, it is limited in certain cases as Bruce stated several years ago. Is this enhanced feature still on the radar at Logos?

As you know a single verse often does not contain a full sentence (i.e., complete thought), so it would be really nice to extend the memorization tool to handle complete thoughts/sentences. Memorizing a part of a sentence (because it is contained in one verse) can be very disjointed, awkward and not really meeting the overall objective of useful practicing memorization of complete thoughts from the Word.

It would also be nice to have two non-consecutive verses as a package to memorize, e.g., Eph. 4:22, 24; but perhaps that is 'one bridge too far'.

I also agree that small font size would be good.

    Thanks.
