Old Logos Upgrade

I have been using Logos 4 for a while and will upgrade to 5 in the near future. Recently, I was offered an old no longer used version of the Scholar's LIbrary Series X (QB) for a couple of bucks (still in original box and wrapping). I'm not even sure what that all means but apparently it is an older version of Logos. My question is if I load it to my computer, will the resources then become compatible with Logos 4/5? There is no point going through the hassle of an upload unless I can get the resources to be available under the current engine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an exact answer for you… but since I run Mac, I am unable to install such software / resources. In my case, I call Logos and have them add the licenses to my account. This allows me to download the resources. This might work for you as well. NOTE: You do have to prove ownership of the resources. Is there an install code?

I think you might be lucky… It looks like the NIV84 is included (which is no longer offered). I which I could bump into a deal like that!

As A24 said. you'll need an unused unlock code. Codes used to be on or inside the CD as I recall. Without that the collection has no value. You'd have to call Logos Support to activate the product. After that the resources will be discovered by L4 (L5) and downloaded. You won't need to actually use the CD.

Both of the previous posts were helpful. I agree with Alabama24 that there are some resources in QB that have since been pulled from the packages (e.g. NIV84) that would be a blessing to you. Open the box, call Logos and have them add the code to your user profile. Consider yourself blessed that you ran across this offer!

This older package also contains BAGD which some folks here would love to have now that BDAG is all that is available.

Peace to you, Jason! You need to ascertain for sure whether the package was ever registered with Logos!

Now, even if it had been, you can still have the original owner transfer the resources to your current Logos account for a fee of $20.00 U.S. You didn't say what base package you have now; however, there may (or may not - depending upon what base you have now!) some value there for you.

Thank you to everyone for your kind assistance. The old codes were formally returned for use to Populi, so this should work for me. The fee was only $20 as has already been mentioned. Thanks again for the help.
