Of what benefit to the user is this new Sync item?
Do you mean besides the obvious for making it easier continuing your study when you move from device to device?

Dave - I think Jon hit the nail on the head. The reason History syncs, is so that you can carry your studies with you. I know there have been times where I have begun a study on one computer and wished I had remembered what I had looked up on the next. Apple & Google are both moving to this kind of thing as well.
I think this a GREAT IDEA. I can't imagine why anyone would not be excited with it, least of all the gentleman from Australia.
I myself often clear my history. With the sync'ing, this will clear my history on my other devices. Woo hoo!
That way, I won't be able to remember where I was (a common problem I keep running into as I have just one more 39th birthday).
Hallelujah! I've been wanting this. When Logos crashes (which it does irritatingly often), you lose all your History from that session. If it syncs to the cloud periodically, that won't matter. You'll be able to recover where you were when the crash happened. I hope it syncs Layout snapshots too.

The main reason I use history is to easily get back to the most recent panel I just closed, especially if I accidentally closed it. I never look back more than 2 or 3 entries in History. But those 2 or 3 are pretty helpful. There's a lot of clutter in my History tab and I suppose I should clear it out every once in a while, but I've never bothered. I like the History in my browser for much the same reason. I might have seen something recently and want to get back to it and can't quite remember where I saw it. History lets me find it.

I'm still not interested in sync'ing History and also not convinced it is needed between different computer sessions with the layout options now available, so I would like to have a setting to manage it.

I can see it wouldn't be helpful on the desktop version because we have access to layouts there. But I also USE logos on my iPad and would ind it helpful there.
