How do you report typos in Logos 5?

mark the typo, right click, select "report typo" from left side of centext menu, type in the correction.

You'll need to be connected to the internet for the menu item to appear.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I thought my question fits here...

I just reported a typo, and this is what I got in the email (I got a few acknowledgements before but never bothered to read them):

We have logged the typo. It is now available to the electronic publisher and will be reviewed when the publisher next updates the data files for this text.

Is Logos saying that it leaves typos to the initiative of the publisher? Is the email implying that all typos are caused by publishers?

    I hope not.

    Lee,

this email (look at the adress) is a standard that seems to be unchanged from Libronix days, when publisher really were the ones who produced the electronic resources and put them on CD-ROMs.

That said, we have been told that Logos compares their electronic versions to printed editions and fixes those errors that crept in in the production process, but will check back with the publishers regarding alleged errors that are in the print version as well.

I happen to think that in new books, the typos often come from the publishers, whereas some older books suffer from typical OCR errors

You're right, it does come from Libronix! Wow.

As the wording of the email currently stands, it sounds a lot like passing the buck. Thanks for clarifying it for me.

This is probably true. I just got a steal of a deal in a Kindle book… there were a number of "C's" for "G's". The error was directly from the publisher (and may have been OCR related). The CP type resources, however, Logos uses OCR to be scanned in since those resources aren't digital.
