How is Logos 5 with Macs?

We have several Macs ( 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7; 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR, AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB, but not SS) and were wondering how the new software is working on them. (not running Windows).

We are considering Portfolio (+ a few other smaller resources), which brings up re-indexing time?

However, the main thing is the speed once set up, reliability, functionality, etc. Logos 4 has been stable for the most part on these computers, so we do not desire to get "new issues" if at all possible.

We have been reading of several issues, but also numerous updates, so we were wondering where things presently stand.

I am running Logos 5 Silver on Mac mini, 2.53, Core 2 duo, 8 GB ram and, yes, there have been several updates. I also run it on a Macbook Pro 2.3 GHz, i-5 processor with 8 GB RAM. I am not experiencing any problems and the speed is not an issue. I have read of people having multiple crashes and other issues but I, personally, have not experienced that.

Everyone else seems to find it much better. For me it's been worse than even L4.

I am running Logos 5 on a 2.7 GHz i5, 12 GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6770m 512 MB. I have it on an SSD (which I got when I still had Logos 4) and that made the most difference for me.

I'd say that I noticed speed improvements overall when I upgraded to Logos 5, but I wouldn't characterize them as stunning, just mild to medium improvements. I have had several crashes (this week has been crash-free however). I forget what my reindexing time was, but it wasn't more than 2-3 hours with just over 2000 resources.

My Mac is 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 16 GB of RAM.

I personally haven't found L5 to be any faster than L4. I've read notes from others who say it is faster. And maybe the difference is what they're doing with Logos.

As I said in another thread on speed, I have to have things like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator open at the same time and I don't have speed issues or spinning beach balls.

Yet L5 (and L4 for that matter) doesn't seem capable of maximizing a Mac's resources such as RAM.

As far as issues, L5 seems stable enough. I've had a crash or two, but nothing consistent that makes me regret upgrading.
