A Christmas wish....

Don't know if this a good spot for feature request. But here it goes. I'm smoothing out my Christmas eve message and using sermon starter, topic guide, and Word stud guide to drill down on a single term. When you click on a link it opens the resource in another tile (or flips to the right page if you have the resource open)

My wish is the ability to open the resource within the guide so that all the resources open as a contiguous whole. As it stands now, when I find info I want to cite/copy/hoard in say, BDAG, I still have to copy/paste into my note taking app (Circus Ponies Notebook on Mac, OneNote on PC, or Evernote for access on both platforms) It would be great to collect/compile all the information in Logos and then to dump it into the Note taking application. As it stands now I get the task accomplished but it takes many more steps.

It would not really make the process simpler (still have to read and assimilate the information) but it would streamline the workflow process.

I'm not exactly sure that this does what you want it to … but in the spirit of Christmas, here is how I do things. When I am beginning to prepare a sermon I create a new Clippings file entitled, say Advent 4. Then as I find material (commentary/biblical passage/verses/etc) that I want to copy, quote, etc. I select the passage that I want in the active resource pane and right click. I then select copy to my title (in this case Advent 4) Clippings file. which is in the bottom right corner of the right-click open-up box. (I can even add notes, edit an individual clipping within the clippings file.

I do this for the whole sermon preparation sessions (the Clippings file stays active on reopening Logos) until I am finished doing the basic groundwork on the sermon. When I am finished I click on the clippings icon on its pane, choose print/export which allows me several options for exporting. Then I export it in the format I want, rtf/docx/etc.

Then I'm ready to take my notes and add/edit/quote/etc.

Saves a mass of time. Works for me! [:D]

That certainly gets the job done, that is essentially what I do know except I go directly to an external note taking program. It would be much more clean if the program did this internally. It already gathers collapsible headers and compiles links beneath them. If those links were also collapsible headers then the resource could just open where it is located in the guide. It seems that the program does half of the task. An other work around would be a note section for each header, where the user could then past excerpts from the resource and then annotate further.

I see that some still have problems, it is nice to be discussing implementation and study methods!
