Check out:

for a more objective view on which are considered the leading commentaries.
What sort of money are you looking to spend? This will dictate what commentaries are available to you.
Also, what will you be using the commentaries for (i.e. seminary, preaching, Sunday school, personal study, etc.)?
Merry Christmas!
it's a gift so i dont have a limit.
Giselle,
The Tyndale Commentary series is a good place to start and it's affordable. http://www.logos.com/product/8593/tyndale-commentaries
Please also take Paul's advice and look at bestcommentaries.com
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Marcus

This question will always get some questions:
I have a few sets and enjoy:
Generally I find that whilst I have preferred sets there are good and OK in most series and the challenge is finding the good from all the ones that I have on the passage or book I am studying. I also like the "Classic Commentaries" that are coming through Community Publishing as I like looking at how the approach to a passage has changed over time.
I have the portfolio package. I just need it for personal studies. No real demoniation.
I have the portfolio package.
Then you already have a some that you might want to explore before investing.
To start with you have some 'older' sets i.e. Calvin, Lange's, Pulpit...
You'll also find some more up to date ones series i.e. New American, UBS Handbooks, College Press.
Plus some incomplete series and one offs.
What you probably lack is one of the "heavyweights".
My suggestion would be set up a collection using type:commentary then use that in the cited by tool to see what you discover about some of your favourite texts. This will help you familiarise yourself with what you already have and help you decide if you need something more to satisfy your personal studies.
There's a discussion on the respective merits of two of the top commentary sets offered in Logos - New International Commentary on the Old / New Testament (NICOT / NICNT) and Anchor Yale Bible (AYB) here:

Personally, I invested in NICOT/NICNT and haven't been disappointed!
I like the Concordia Commentary Series. It's on sale today only as part of the "Second Chase Sale" - but you have to call in to get the price reduced
BTW - Anyone interested in the Concordia Commentary series should really call in.
For devotional Commentary reading, I like the People's Bible Series a lot.
