Forgot that Logos is not installed in Program Files

I use my laptop at the office and at home and it has different accounts profiles. Installed Logos with the domain user and recently had to remove that account to recreate it with a new one. I forgot that Logos is not installed in Program Files but the user appdata\local directory so I lost all files and have to download everything and do the indexing again yikes!. This time I installed it with the local computer administrator account. Just to remind you so you don't get the same trouble.

No, it didn't work. The download finished (my internet connection is very slow), the indexing finished all with the local computer account but when I try to open the program with the domain account it insist in downloading it all over again. How can I avoid that?

Ok I read the wiki but is not that I want to move the logos folder location. The problem is that when I use the other account it insist in downloading everything again. How do I tell Logos to use the files that are already located in the computer with the domain account. By the way the domain account is also an administrator account and it has full control over all the files. If I use Windows explorer I can view, copy, delete or move all the files.

Ok as the wiki says if I run the junction command while logged with the domain account on the directory of the local user account will that work?

Can somebody please tell me something I don't want to download an index everything again [:(]

Made a backup of Logos5. Delete the directory from the local user account. Followed the "Install on multiple computer" wiki procedure but copying the directory on [C:\] instead of the any user directory. The scan command doesn't works and I can not view the resources, they are listed in the library but no longer available. Run the scan command again [scan c:\logos5] but again nothing happened. Close logos and load it again online it says preparing your library step 1 of 3 and it stays there and still not working. Help!

I noticed that you are not getting any responses to your various posts. I would respond; however, I don't have a clue as to where to start. Your problem looks complicated enough to me that perhaps you should be calling Logos Customer Service.

Did you remember that you must restart Logos5 after typing the scan command?

Also, it would be normal to prepare your library as you say here, and it could take a very, very long time, depending on the number of resources, and the speed of your system. It could even take hours to complete, if you have a lot of resources and a very slow computer/hard drive, with little free hard drive space. Also as long as it is preparing your library, Logos would not be very usable (if at all).

Not sure if this answers your question or not, as I may have missed something in the steps you followed to resolve your issue. I also wondered if there is a problem with the system registry, since you removed Logos without uninstalling it. If so, it would require completely uninstalling what you did, editing the registry, and reinstalling again. That could be tricky and time consuming. So let's hope that isn't necessary.

Caution about junction command: need to be careful to use Logos for one user at a time. The SQLite database file usage is designed for one user at a time.

Also have diagnostic logging enabled => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging so can open diagnostic log files to see what is happening, which included a custom installation so watched Logos.log for awhile, then quit Logos followed by offline use and scan command with another restart, which took awhile for scan to discover unlocked resources, copy to Logos folder, and index them. Thankful could monitor progress using Indexer log file.

Edil, for technical problems like this you should post in the Logos 5 forum in future, where you will get more immediate attention.

If you follow Method 2 exactly you should have no problem reinstalling from your backup i.e. you have to install Logos 5 at Step 2 and then copy the three folders at Step 3. At Step 5 note that you have to restart Logos for the scan command to work.

Don't forget to uninstall Logos from the local user account when this is finished.
