Wen I highlight a word in the ESV the built in iPad dictionary overrides the logos word look up. Is there a way to fix this? See pictures below.

this is what I see.

this is what I want to do.

    Gayle– welcome to the forums!

The results you are getting are indicative of one of two things: either you are offline, or you don't actually own the resources needed. Do you have a base package?

Alabama, thank you for your reply.

I do have an Internet connection and I believe I have logos 4 either the bronze and silver package. I can't remember and am not where I can look it up. I can access that feature in the Greek bible just not in the ESV. I think it works in the Greek Bible because the built in dictionary doesn't have access to the Greek language.

    Gayle,

If the email you're using in the iOS app is the same as you have connected to your account you're posting from I don't see a base package connected to your account.

I work for a church that provided my base package for me. They bought it in bulk for many staff members so could that is why it is not showing I have a base package linked to my account? I have attached a video that demonstrates the problem I'm experiencing. The iPad built in dictionary overrides the logos bubble. If you have fast hands you can click the word study button before the override happens. [View:http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lV2U6wg41qs:550:0] However it works in the Greek because the built in dictionary does not take over.  I want to be able to read the ESV and be able to click a word to  find out what the Greek word is, like shown in the picture above.

Gayle - I'm not sure what you mean by "bought in bulk." Did the church purchase a different base package for each staff member? The logos liscence is for one user only... As long as they purchased one for each, you should be fine.

The reply above by tommy is from a Logos employee. He was able to determine that the email address you are using in the forums does NOT have a base package associated with it. Is this the credentials you are using with the mobile app, or do you use another? I believe that the reverse interlinear is provided free for the lexham bible... This isn't true with the ESV.

Alabama - I am Gayle's son-in-law.  These questions are really coming from me, not her. I am considering buying Logos and a tablet and she let me test it out over Christmas using her account. She has the Logos 3 Scholar package. She works for a large church which purchased this package for each staff member at a discounted price(I assume because of the amount purchased). I am leaning more towards an android tablet, so this will likely not be an issue for me any longer.

However, there is still a problem. Even if the package does not include a reverse interlinear, the apple dictionary is still overriding the Logos functions. The video shows that even if I wanted to do a basic word study, which the free app with no base package allows(I know because I have it on my phone), you still have to be really quick with your finger tapping to get it to work before the apple dictionary takes over. As long as this does not occur for an android tablet and it's built in dictionary, I should be good.

    Thanks for the help.
