I would like to recommend that So Many Versions? Twentieth-Century English Versions of the Bible by Sakae Kubo and Walter F. Specht be made available in Logos. It is a wonderful resource on the many variety of translations available today.
The book is 30 years old (1983). I used to have a copy of the earlier cover edition. There have probably been 50 newer translations or revisions that have come out since then, and those are the ones that people will be finding in the stores. I enjoyed the book immensely as a fairly new Christian back then, but I suspect its usefulness has diminished somewhat because of its publication date.
I could buy that book!
'As for newer books, I don't think there are any good ones!
