How to search for words located near each other, but not in the same verse

I am trying to do a more detailed search throughout the entire Bible where God mentions bringing the Israelites back to the land and His giving His Spirit to them. Thus I want to search for "land" and "Spirit," where those words are mentioned within 5 verses of each other. How do I do that?

Use Basic Search and specify "Bible Text" instead of "All Text", but use something like land WITHIN 20 words spirit as land AND spirit means the words can be far apart.

Thanks, Dave. I had tried that with 30 words apart and only got 19 results....I was thinking there were more verses, so I didn't know if there was a way to say within 4 or 5 verses...apparently not?

Also, what is the maxium number of words that your words can be apart?

That is correct. The Bible Search works against verse boundaries while the Basic Search works against article boundaries and you can't specify verse ranges within it.

Also, what is the maxium number of words that your words can be apart?

No maximum that I am aware of but the words need to be within the same chapter (a chapter is considered as an article within a Basic Search)

You can't specify verses, but I tried 200 words and it's obvious that the results aren't meaningful. 30 - 40 words is probably it.
Just examine the results each time you increase the proximity.

Well, that was what I did originally...I think I had tried 150 verses....but saw no difference between that and 30 verses....so I just wondered if there was a specific limit....oh well....
