From Libronix to Logos 4

Help!!

I was changed from Libronix to Logos 4 which to me right now stinks. It is too complicated to add new titles. Libronix was way, way, way, way, more simple to use.

I go online sign in, I call the numbers given, and guess what they are open the hours I am at work, so that is no help at all.

I have tried all that I know to add titles that say libronix, and try to get them merged into logos 4, and nothing happens. I guess unless by some way I am home sick or dying, that this sorry program is not helping me much.

Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me conquer this logos 4, I know there are surely others than myself who are having problems with this format????

I have never had any issues with adding new titles to L4. How are you trying to add titles?

If you have your L3 licenses all backed up to Logos' servers, then everything will be downloaded to L4.

It should operate for you a smooth as silk. When you used Logos (Libronix) 3.0g, did you synchronize your licenses with the Logos Server?

They, then, will download Logos 4 into your account.

Account Management is under Tools in your Libronix....

Libronix 3.0g had two ways for adding resources. If purchased new one(s) using Logos.com web site, needed to download an AutoUpdate.lbxupd file from orders page => https://www.logos.com/user/orders (click on order #, click Download Instructions for Previous Versions, click Unlock) OR copy AutoUpdate.lbxupd from email, followed by closing Libronix 3.0g to run AutoUpdate.lbxupd script to add license and download resource(s). Other option was unlocking resource using Shopping Cart in Libronix 3.0g that was especially useful if already had resource file in Libronix DLS/Resources folder.

Caveat: Libronix Update for downloading resources has an annoyance: if one file cannot be downloaded, then all files that has been downloaded in that session are discarded.

Thankful for 313 free eBooks since Thanksgiving 2011. After placing order for $ 0.00 on Vyrso.com, an update for Logos 4 OR Logos 5 typically happens quickly since have application open with Automatically Download Updates set to Yes and Use Internet set to Yes. After resource has downloaded, need to restart Logos so resource can be discovered and indexed.

Sometimes have used update now command OR set update channel command to cause Logos 4 OR Logos 5 to initiate Library comparison for new resources and download new/updated resources. Thankful for many Logos 4 and 5 updated resources.

Personally using same Logos.com account for Libronix 3.0g, Logos 4, and Logos 5,

I am an ardent fan of L3 (Libronix). At this point, if Logos 5 made a cash deposit to my account every time I used it, I would still do the lion's share (95-99%) of my Bible study in L3. For me, L4, L5...and L6, L7, L8 and so on, will always be a pale comparison to L3, because there are at least half-a-dozen critical features of L3 that I use every day that are never going to be incorporated in future Logos editions. So be it.

But there is good news! You don't have to "change" from L3 to L4 at all. Unlike making the move from L4 to L5, in which L5 literally overwrites L4 so that it is gone forever (won't be missed by me), you can still run L3 right along side of L4 or L5. I actually do this all the time. L5 does have features that L3 doesn't have, and when I need those features, one click brings up L5. It is the best of both worlds. In my world L5, like L4 before it, is still the idiot savant...incapable of doing the simplest of things but nevertheless able to perform some amazing esoteric functions.

When it comes to "downloading" resources in L4 & L5, it is all automatic. However, all resoureces that have been released since March are no longer usable in Libronix. Still, any resources you buy that were already produced before that time can be added to L3. I bought the resources below just a few days ago, but the L3 files were sent to my Orders page (at the bottom) since they are older resources.

When my logos 4 did updates it said it synchronized my license, it then said it was downloading updates, but still is not showing in my library the titles that I added.

I don't know where to look in my account of what titles that I have that are activated.

It does take L4 a long time to download everything & even longer to index everything. I would recommended that you let your computer and L4 running overnight so that it can index everything (yes, it can take that long).

After Logos 4 has downloaded resource files, a pop-up will appear about adding resources to library. After restarting Logos, the indexer will discover the downloaded resources, and move them followed by indexing. Part of moving resources is updating a catalog so resources appear in the Library. Indexing needs to complete before can search those resources.

If have diagnostic logging permanently enabled when launching Logos, can monitor Indexer.log to see progress. Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

One way to check mobile resource access is login to http://biblia.com Caveat: due to license constraints with a variety of publishers, a portion of Logos resources are not available for mobile use. Personally Thankful for over 90 % of my Library being available on mobile device(s).
