Odd response...

Am I the only one who thinks it is strange and annoying that the side-scrolling contents bar changes font size right along with the text in the reading window? I want the scroll bar font to be smallish so that it needs to be scrolled less...I don't "read" that window in a normal sense (I do look at it, of course) so a smaller font is not just fine, it's highly desirable. I can understand the legally blind perhaps wanting to have an option to increase the font of the contents panel, but to have it as a default link with the reading panel is silly. Can someone please tell me that it can be unlinked and how to do it?

EDIT: I figured it out! [:)] On mine it looks like it's set so that the contents panel font size is one point smaller than the pane it is part of; and no I don't think there's any way to change that....

Hello David,

A change in Text Size will affect the locator bar and contents pane along with the resource text. Since Program Scaling will also do this, I've submitted your request for Text Size to only affect the main text.

Thanks, Melissa. I think you understood my issue. Just to be clear, though, I have the pic below to illustrate my concern.

The blue area is the part that I was primarily concerned about...it shouldn't match the text window's font size with every change large or small. The contents pane is best in a small size font because it then reduces the amount of scrolling required. Like I said, no one is "reading" extended text in that pane, so size is not really an issue. I recognize that sight impared folks might want to have an option to enlarge that area, but it should be separate from the text pane controls. As far as the red area is concerned, I think it could probably be linked to the contents pane for the same reasons.

Jeremiah, More than likely we'll see 4a when the beta changes to RC . Right now it's at beta 3
