What to do..

I have been using logos for a while now. I still feel very much like a newbie. This L4 seems to be better than L3 but I have read so many posts here and watched so many videos (multiple times) I am just getting more and more confused by it all.

I guess one thing is the prioritizing resources. I have done " bibles" and "bible commentaries" as according to type. It seemed that Luther's Works was monographs with the exception of Volumes 1-30 but not 10. I had to add them as individual books to the list.

When I do a search I still want the other Luther Works looked at before an Utley commentary for example. Is the prioritized resource list just to add all the books you want searched and displayed? Would a search actually break down to windows of bible, bible commentary, monograph, dictionary, etc?

What is the difference in using an ESV reverse interlinear as opposed to another reverse interlinear?

We just had the big download. Does it auto install? For it to download in the first place does Logos4 need to be running?

I have picked up the L4 original languages package for the greek and hebrew stuff. what is the best way to go about learning the greek and hebrew stuff? About the only thing I know about greek is the alphabet because of my degree in Mathematics and my many science courses. I am familiar with just a few vocabulary words.

I am thinking that I need a Camp Logos but can't afford it....and I have never seen it in the Tucson AZ area. Is there anyone in this area that knows logos pretty good? Maybe we can connect. I have a V3 that I can work with to just learn about all the study features. Taking notes, writing comments in verse area or section area, highlighting text. I basically understand the tutorial videos but want to see how to go about a real study.

When does the NIV interlinear come out?

What would be 4 or 5 bibles that would give me a wide variety of translation techniques....For example, NIV is good for this but NASB is bad for this and good for that.

I am really wondering about the Hebrew pronunciation addin....I preorded that in 2007 (sept) its now Dec 09....whats up?

I appreciate the forums maybe this will add to my learning.

How about creating a collection, based on:
author:"Luther, Martin"
You can then search this collection.

Not sure I follow. You search what you want -- a collection, particular bible(s), etc. The search results are not sorted by the Type of the resources, but your prioritized resources are given priority.

A reverse interlinear displays the words from the translation (ESV in this case), in the order of the words in the translation, with details of the Gk/Heb source word under each English word. The words in the ESV are different from the words in another translation (e.g. NIV), and are in a different order.

Yes: it automatically downloads and installs when you start Logos 4.

Yes: Logos 4 needs to be running. It won't start the download if you don't start Logos 4.

Big question. There are some resources in Logos, but if you have never learned a foreign language, it might be best to find a Greek class in your local area. There's a lot to learn!

Apparently this project ended up being much more complex than Logos thought. I'm sure there are many people waiting for it to come out.

For a basic useful list see http://wiki.logos.com/A_Sample_Prioritize_List . You don't have to prioritise all commentary sets, just the ones that are important to you when you use the various Guides and Tools.

The Prioritize list does not assist Searching in any way. You need to create Collections to restrict a search, but that is all it will do (presentation is not based on collections). Prioritizing ensures that your favourite resources are used when references and links are encountered in a resource eg. a bible reference, a Greek lemma, a Greek Strong's number.

No difference between reverse interlinears beyond the English text they use and the original language words assigned to them. The NKJV and KJV will utilise different Greek/Hebrew texts reflecting their origin vs the texts used for the modern translations like NIV, ESV.
