Bug: Bible Search Sympathetic Highlighting NIV84

Upgraded to Logos 5 recently and have been working through the new features from the Mark Barnes video. I tried the sympathetic highlighting by adding versions to a Bible Search in the New Testament. The NIV84 highlighting is always misplaced by several characters. Other versions work fine including the NIV2011. I have rebuilt my bible indexes. Have others seen this behavior?

It works fine for me as shown below:

What version information do you have for the NIV84? (Open the Bible, click on the information button in the top-right hand corner and scroll to the bottom).

It may be worth hiding / restoring the NIV84 to check if something is wrong with your downloaded copy - details at http://wiki.logos.com/Hiding_Books

Thanks for the info. Here is what I had for version:

LLS:1.0.10
2011-03-23T18:46:25Z
NIV.logos4
RVI:NIVNT
2012-10-15T14:15:44Z
NIVNT.lbsrvi

Resource ID is the same as yours but date is clearly different. So I followed your link to hide and then unhide the NIV84. L5 then downloaded 4.2MB of updates and the version is now:

LLS:1.0.10
2012-10-15T16:26:46Z
NIV.logos4
RVI:NIVNT
2012-10-15T14:15:44Z
NIVNT.lbsrvi

After indexing, I ran the same search and the sympathetic highlighting is accurate.

I do feel this is a bug because L4/L5 should have caught this when doing a regular sync--and definitely when I purchased L5 and downloaded all the Silver resources. Evidently because the NIV84 is not part of the newer packages it must have slipped through the cracks.

Sync synchronises user items such as notes and layouts but I don't believe it is designed to cover this case

and definitely when I purchased L5 and downloaded all the Silver resources. Evidently because the NIV84 is not part of the newer packages it must have slipped through the cracks.

Mine was updated on 22 October during the beta testing process so, at one stage, there was an update to the resource. It will be interesting to see if others who upgraded with the commercial release also see this problem.

But I agree that something hasn't worked as it should.

Concur with bug in resource updating, especially since NIV84 Reverse Interlinear resource was updated with 2012-10-15 revision, but NIV84 Bible was not that has a revision two hours later. Note: resource updating is a bit different than sync.

I was traveling with my laptop when I wrote the above. I also checked after upgrading my home desktop and work desktop computers to Logos 5 and they both retained the old version of the NIV84 although all the computers did upgrade the RVI to the latest version. This is what caused the sympathetic highlighting problem. Easily fixed by hiding and unhiding (restoring) after the initial L5 indexing is finished; however, this should be done automatically by the update mechanism.

Does the NIV84 happen to be your preferred Bible? (We had a bug in the beta that caused your preferred Bible to not be updated correctly; other customers have reported that the ESV wasn't updated and I'm wondering if a similar bug has returned.)

Yes, NIV84 is my preferred Bible. This could be a similar situation to what you are describing for others using the ESV and beta versions. I have never downloaded a beta version of L4 or L5. I probably would not have noticed this except for experimenting with the sympathetic highlighting in the Bible Search.
