BHS 4.2 Morphology

Hi,

I just installed Logos 4 on my laptop which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. My BHS w/4.2 Morphology opens to the title/preface fine, but when I scroll down it's all blank.

Logos has finished indexing and is all sync'd up. I tried to open other resources and , so far, everything else seems to be fine.

How might I go about getting this working?

I have discovered that all 3 of the BHS versions that I have are blank resources. wow.

That is strange. Have you tried typing a passage into the BHS's reference box to see if it will go there?

Mike, All three of mine are just fine, so this is not normal behavior. I do not have a solution for you, but at least you know that you do not have a common problem.

I noticed mine blank once or twice before as well. I'm not sure what the reason was but now it is fine. I'm using B2

Ok, I discovered that if I changed the Hebrew font to Ezra SIL or Ezra SIL SR from the default SBL Hebrew that I can read my BHS resources. So, it appears that the Logos 4 DVD did not install the SBL Hebrew font.

Now I have a new problem. I changed the BHS w/4.2 morphology to a hidden resource in an attempt to see if I could get the Logos engine to re-download the resource. Now it is not showing up as a hidden resource and I have to figure out how to get it back. Does anyone have an idea as to how I might go about restoring this resource?

Hi Mike,

Regarding the issue with the SBL Hebrew font, do you have any other software that is using that font, such as Bibleworks? Another customer found that the problem was fixed after updating all possible modules in BW7 and restarting computer. You may find more helpful information in this thread: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/3657.aspx.

When you hide a resource, Logos will respect your wish not to see that resource, and won't redownload it. When you click on Hidden Resources in Program Settings, does the section expand and show the message "You must restart Logos 4 for any changes to take effect"? Your hidden resources should be in the box below that message.

Actually, no. After I rebooted the computer, the BHS w/4.2 morphology no longer is listed in my hidden resources list.

I'll need to play detective and find out where Logos 4 is storing the resources so I can manually drop a copy of that BHS there.

I am indeed using BibleWorks 8, which I had installed prior to installing Logos 4. I have this same setup on my desktop machine and the BHS resources display correctly. The desktop is running Vista Business SP2. The BibleWorks 8 on the desktop installation is with all available BibleWorks resources while the laptop with the BHS display problem only has BibleWorks resources in English, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.

The BHS 4.2 morphology is no longer listed under hidden resources, so I can't figure out how to restore it on the laptop without either locating the resource directory and dropping a copy there or uninstalling Logos 4 and re-installing it.

BTW, my BibleWorks 8 was fully patched on both machines before installing Logos 4. No problem with Vista SP2 on the desktop machine.

No, the BHS w/4.2 morphology is not available n my laptop. I did not delete the ResourceManager.db on the laptop - so far I have not even located the folder that Logos 4 resides in on the Win7 laptop.

Also, I might note that the desktop runs a 32 bit OS and the laptop runs a 64 bit OS, in case that matters at all.

Hi Melissa,

I got this all working fine on the laptop. I went ahead and uninstalled Logos 4 on the laptop and deleted the remaining folders and contents. When I went to re-install Logos 4 I did so using the DVD that Logos sent me, but this time I shut off networking on the laptop so it would not poll/query logos.com about my license. After the re-install, I enabled networking and then it downloaded my resources including the BHS with 4.2 morphology. The SBL Hebrew font works fine now. Thank you and all of the other folks that stepped up to lend me a hand on this problem.

I'm not sure, but seeing as I had already registered my minimal crossgrade DVD on the desktop, I kind of wonder if the initial laptop installation wherein the SBL Hebrew font was not being displayed in Logos 4 went south because the installation process engaged the logos server prior to whatever the DVD had to churn to make the SBL Hebrew font work? In other words, since this was my SECOND Logos 4 install the installation process skipped some of the DVD install process and jumped to the server install porocess without getting the SBL Hebrew font configured.

At any rate, by cutting the network and installing Logos 4 offline from the DVD and then going online I got a good installation that I can use.
