I there a logos 4 version for your desktop that gives pretty basic free books to use so you do not have to purchase the full version of logos 4 from the sales dept.

The Logos 5 engine will be available free sometime during the first quarter of this year.

There are some free books available - but not many. For details you can browse the Logos website using http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=15&sort=pricelo&pageSize=15
But I am not sure that just having these free resources would give you real value from the Logos software.
Are you able to expand a bit on what you are hoping to achieve?
Have you looked at Biblia.com (also operated by Logos) where you can access somewhere between 60 & 70 free resources through a browser?
