How does the speed of Logos 5 compare to 4. IN Windows and Mac?
It is faster in Mac. Cannot speak about windows.

I certainly is faster on the PC. No way to quantify it because I no longer have a PC running L4, and you'd have to be able to run both on the same or on identical machines to make a comparison.
I find tools like the Information Panel to be useful now when they bogged down my use of L4. To me there isn't a big difference in search speed (which was fine in L4) or in the populating of the Passage Guide (which also was acceptable in L4). Perhaps others have noticed improvements in these.
It's a little here and a little there that seems to make the whole be a bit quicker.
it is "you never notice the problem" faster. Earlier, in L4 I would "feel" how sluggish the program was. Now, it just does what it is supposed to do and I never "notice" delays. it is very responsive. Typing Notes is fine.
