PrePub and Wish List functionality

Hello,

I would really like it if a notification message could automatically be sent as Pre-Pub content became available. I'm not interested in paying the money for the Pre-Pub up front because I'd be spending money now and not sure when I'd get the book. Would I get it in time for the next semester? This semester? Also, I know this is kind of separate, but multiple wish lists would also be very cool. i.e. one wish list per course or one wish list per semester. For church application, one wish list per small group study, etc, etc. This added functionality to make keeping perspective orders for your content much more simplified for your customers and the easier you make it for them to buy something, the more likely they are to actually buy it.

The good news is, you don't pay money for pre-pubs at Logos (don't know if some other bible software do it this way). Ordering a pre-pub is signing up on a list of people who say "I want it when it becomes available" - and only then, after a notification message has been sent out some days in advance, your credit card will be charged and the resource will ship. In case you discover that e.g. the resource will ship too late for your needs, you may cancel the pre-pub at any time!

I think there are multiple wish lists (I just use one currently). Try it out.

Go to https://www.logos.com/user/notifications and check that option. Or there should be an RSS feed somewhere.

No one pays up front. You're only charged when it ships. And you can delete the order at any time before shipping if it turns out to take too long for you.

You can see books that are about to ship at http://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Pre-Pub&start=0&sort=shipdate&pageSize=60.

You can see books that have just shipped, plus collections that have just been split up, at http://www.logos.com/products/search?Status=Live&start=0&sort=newest&pageSize=60.

But note that prices generally go up the moment a resource ships. It can be very little, but it can also be several hundred dollars and/or several hundred percents, especially if it's a Community Pricing title. Are you sure you want to pay $150 or $350 for something the rest of us got for $20 or $50?

Plus [almost] nothing goes into production until Logos has enough orders to cover the costs, so the more people that think like you, the longer it will be until the resource is produced.

Having originated from the 'House of Cat' (no relationship to kingship of course), I was curious. So I went to the pre-pub page:

I've always been suspicious of those last 2 words: in the 'real' world it means signing on to eternal emails that never stop.

So I went to my notifications area in my account to see if it was different.

It wasn't clear exactly 'what' was supposed to happen. I moused around and even waved an 'iron implement' over it (just in case it was a prohibited alter; see Deuteronomy).

After waiting to see what would happen next, I took my mouse and clicked on 'Update'.

Nothing I could see happened.

I really hope I didn't just sell my email soul. I watched the cries of anguish going up from the forum. and it's just too horrifying.

I love Logos so much.

Well, well! I found something out by accident (had a lot to do with the iron-implement waving).

I got an email from Logos (my emphasis):

'We have received your request to unsubscribe from all of our email lists and to opt out of receiving marketing emails from Logos and Logos' partners. Please allow up to 72 hours for the change to take place. You may continue to receive emails during this time.

By choosing to opt out of receiving marketing emails, you will be prevented from signing up for email lists on Logos.com, Vyrso.com, and other Logos Bible Software sites.

You can remove this restriction at any time by visiting http://logos.com/user/notifications .....'

Looks like it's a one-trick pony.

Thanks man! That's SUPER helpful. Now I understand the process alot better. I can't believe I missed the sort by release date and the new list button. I really appreciate you taking the time to educate me on this stuff man. Thanks again.
