After I enter a scripture on homepage, it takes me a new page with the scripture and several ancillary information sources. How can I change the DEFAULT so it JUST opens to the scripture in my preferred translation ... Period!!
John, instead of typing the passage in the box next to the Go button, try typing the passage in the text box at the very top of the window (to the right of the tools menu). Hitting enter will take you to the requested passage in your preferred bible.
Thanks, now is there a way that I can keep that verse .... wherever I was last reading .... as a default and open to it? I know it must be possible, every other Bible program I've had lets me pick up where I lfet off, without going through all the entry work. Also, in general, how can I go to whatever I was working on, without having to start over with entries, etc.
John,
If you close L5, it should re-open where you left it (assuming you've unchecked the 'Show Home Page at Startup' box). Make sure it is unchecked. It is found by clicking the settings sprocket on the bottom left of the homepage. Here's a screenshot of mine-
As for picking up where you left off, save a layout that you can update each time before you close your bible/notes/whatever else. This will not only open your bible to where you were, it will open any other windows to the same place as well. To create a layout, get your window like you want it, click the Layouts tab on the top right of your screen, then click the little pencil icon under the 'now' layout, and type a title for the layout in the dialog box. Hit Enter. You'll now see the saved layout in the list on the left when you open the Layouts tab.
To update a layout, click layouts, right-click on the one you want to update, then click 'Update to Current Snapshot'.
John, I recommend you take the time to look through the videos at http://www.logosbiblesoftwaretraining.com/videos/. They're free, absolutely excellent, and will save you far more time than it takes to look at them.
(They were made for L4, but almost nothing will have changed. Well, Bible Facts looks a bit different, so that's probably not the best one to start with.)
