That won't speed up Logos to a noticeable extent given that you have an SSD.
I also wish to eliminate some of the many rewrites to my SSD.
Whilst this is often stated about SSD's I think it is overstated when you are running consumer desktop applications. If you got a 3 yr warranty from a well known manufacturer the SSD will be as reliable/long lasting as a HDD. I have an SSD from Intel and it supports the OS and all apps. The wear indicator has barely deviated from 100% over several months i.e. it is not deteriorating as fast as you seem to fear. A contributing factor is ensuring you keep about 20% free space (never fill an SSD).
Note that you would lose several GB of RAM for a RAM disk for Logos. How much do you have? A RAM disk would also require loading of the Logos files from/to hard disk (your SSD!) at boot/shutdown.
EDIT: have you prevented the OS from writing to the SSD eg Prefetch/Superfetch, hibernation?
Dave,
Thank you for your enlightenment. It is much appreciated. I will follow your observations.
