Sermon preparation software?

HI

Can anyone help me with ideas on sermon preparation software.  I am not looking for Bible study tools as such, rather I want something I can write my thoughts and research on and then organise into points, and have like a spider diagram so that I can put the thing together visually etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Trevor

Are you familiar with Microsoft Office One-Note? If so quit here.

But It does have some of this flexibility--a quick web search would reveal it strengths and options.

I like that it can be used as a "white" board--and that later different locations/boxes can be joined and or separated etc.[literally moved around the screen/page

    It is very visual.

Trevor, are you thinking of something like a mind mapping program? For example: http://www.mindmapping.com/

    like a spider diagram

I would suggest that you look at the following possibilities:

    • Inspiration 9 (my favorite for ease of learning and low price)
    • FreeMind
    • The Brain (highly recommended but some Logos users)

Wikipedia has a list of mind mapping software for other possibilities.

    Scrivener...

An index card corkboard and word processor and more...

And you cannot beat the price.

    This looks promising, thanks.

If you're using Mac OS X, Scrivener is great. If you need mind-mapping software, MindNode Pro is really good and syncs with it's iOS app. Here is their link http://mindnode.com There are other, more expensive mind mapping tools, but for me MindNode does the job

There is a Windows version of Scrivener, which I use. The new beta has the OPML import that is already in the Mac version. This allows apps like Mindnode and others that can export a mind map as OPML to be imported into Scrivener as the framework or structure of the book/document/sermon you wish to build.

    For mind-mapping, I use Mindjet.

Thanks to all for these suggestions.  I have looked at them.  I like Scrivener and have bought it.  Its still not everything I am looking for though.

I've decided to invest in getting a small piece of software written for me that accomodates my chosen method / process of sermon preparation.  Its the most expensive option, but anything that helps me to improve my ability to preach the word is worth it.  Eternal investment!

    Thanks again.

If you are looking for windows based software, may be willing to assist, and it may not be as expensive as you fear:

When you have worked out details of what you want, drop me a line at logosforumstuff AT domisoft DOT co DOT uk and will see how I can help, even if it just for a sounding board on what is best way forward, if you are not a developer yourself .
