I bought all the Classic Commentaries Collections that have come out so far. I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed when I saw the CC for Numbers & Deuteronomy collection...because I felt like each book of Tohraah should get its own collection. Well, it is even worse than I expected--only 3 of the 20 resources in the N & D collection actually cover the book of Numbers! Wow, that's bad. One of the Exodus resources actually claims to examine events in Numbers as well, so I went ahead and chipped it in out of pity, making 4. Ouch! [:O]
Is it really that hard to find 100-200 year old commentaries on Numbers??? [^o)] I find that hard to believe, especially since Numbers contains some of the most important and prophetic episodes in the Bible--the 12 spies, Korah's rebellion, the brazen serpent, Balak & Balaam, Phineas, just to name a few events. What gives??
So, here is my suggestion, Logos! [I]
Make a CCC for Numbers. Seriously. Take your time if you have to. Pull out the ol' magnifying glass and rouse the ol' hound dog...and find those old Numbers commentaries! Honestly, they HAVE to be out there...have to be.
While you are at it, if you turn up a couple of additional Deuteronomy resources you could toss those in as well. It will all even out in the end. [A]
Thanks!
