I have noticed a couple of things regarding saved layouts. As far as I can tell this is just how things work, but I am mentioning it here for a potential update in the future or in case I am wrong.
I do my daily Bible reading with L4 using a reading plan listed in the homepage. For Bible reading I like to have a layout that includes the markup panel, the Bible, and then cross references. I keep this layout separate from when I am doing research since I want it to load quickly and just focused on the reading. So I have created a layout and saved it as "Bible Reading" that is setup the way I would like it to look.
The problems I have are the following:
- I cannot find any way to select which layout to load when I click on my Bible reading for the day. Whenever I click on it (regardless of L4's state when I have closed it) is the default layout.
- When I load my layout apparently the scripture reference is saved too, so if I open my Bible reading for the day and then open my Bible Reading layout it reverts back to the scripture I was reading when I saved the layout. It would be nice if the layout saved more the layout of the panels not the specific content.
Regarding the Bible reading panel itself:
- L3 had an option to hide completed readings. This would be VERY nice to have in L4. Cannot find it if it is there, but it cuts down on a lot of scrolling when you are towards the end of a year-long reading plan.
- The option to view a Bible reading plan as calendar/list should be kept always visible in the panel, either floating, or just by hiding the completed readings. If I am 3/4 way through a year long reading plan and want to switch to list view I have to scroll all the way to the top, select list view, and then scroll all the way back down to where I am at.
I still love using L4... just wanting to help it continue to grow and be increasingly user friendly!
