new Logos 4 install on a MacBook Pro quits during start up

I am a regular user on Dell and iPad. Just inherited a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.4; processor 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

Last weekend I downloaded and installed Logos 4 Mac. It spent hours doing the library install. I shut it down and turned off the laptop.

This week I have tried to use the program and it starts, gives me some music says it will do some library function and then shuts down.

I took a look at your log, but I'm not a full fledged "techie" and wasn't able to gain anything from it. I do have a quick suggestion for you to try:

Have you tried to load to a blank layout? Press and hold the command key immediately after starting the app… check the appropriate box. If it loads for you, try building a layout from scratch.

PS - I would look into upgrading your ram. 2 GB is very skimpy.

Hi Scott,

It looks like your index files might have been corrupted. You mentioned you shut it down after installing. Is it possible it hadn't finished indexing yet? That may have corrupted the index file it was working on.

Regardless, we can repair it by rebuilding the index. You'll want to go to Finder, click on the "Go" menu, and enter the following:

~/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/ebhrmn38.udr

Your Logos 4 Data directory will open. Since we don't know which index was affected, I would recommend moving both "BibleIndex" and the "LibraryIndex" folders to your trash. Logos should now open correctly and build a fresh index. Be sure to watch for the Indexer icon, up by your clock. We don't want to power off the computer, or close the lid, until that finishes and disappears.
