Logos5 keeps crashing on MacBook (OS X 10.8.2)

Hi,

A few months ago I moved from a PC to Mac. I downloaded Logos5 and enjoyed it for about a month or so without any problems.

For the last few months off and on, I would load Logos5 and it would crash. Or, it would open and I would do a passage search, or open an 'old' layout and it would crash. Now it is crashing more than it is staying open.

Any ideas?

Both crashes had "Too Many Open Files" One idea is restarting Mac. Another idea is tweaking OS X user file limits, then restarting Mac.

Thread => Logos 5.0a SR-2 CRASH (again!): Too many open files includes experiences of some more Logos 5 users on OS X.

Personally looking forward to "Too Many Open File" crashes being resolved by a future Logos 5 release.

Ian, in the meantime can you launch Logos 5 to a "blank layout?" It is likely you're opening Logos 5 to the last layout you were at before it started crashing. This layout, for the way Logos 5 is set up now, has too much going on in. Opening Logos 5 to a blank layout will work around this, and you'll be able to navigate to the home page from there, and then any other layout you want. I would avoid the exact layout it was opening to.

You can open to a blank layout by navigating to your Applications folder, single selecting the Logos 5 application file, holding the Command key down, and with it held down tapping the O key. If you keep the Command key held down it will cause the sign in window to appear, and you'll be able to select the blank layout option and sign in.
