All top Bibles not showing in Search

Not rushing this one - here's what I've run into. I do a Search and at first it works, i.e. "Word was God" - gives me the option of Grid / Verses / Aligned / Analysis.

Before I added the Amplified Bible, four verses from four versions would be side by side. Since I added the Amplified, I do not get that anymore, but four verses vertical, one under the other.

That's ok - so I do another search, and this time I tried i.e. "the dream of Pharaoh is one" ... and now I only get the KJV, whether I click on Grid / Verses / Aligned / Analysis.

Can one steer me in the right direction without me having to watch half a dozen videos again to find what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Could you send us a screenshot or two so we can understand how you've been searching. The first incidence you mention sounds to me like "text comparison," rather than a search????

I've checked of "match all word forms" and this seems to have helped. I also notice typing in i.e. "Saul of Tarsus" brings up only the KJV. Since other translations are not wording it that way, apparently this might be the reason why they are not coming up. Is that normal? Also, forgive the repetition, but before this evening, typing in a word or phrase in the Search would have four translations side by side (or is that side by each). That is not so now. I cannot get it to come back to this previous way. Help will be appreciated I'm sure. Thanks!

The other translations (versions) only appear when you are in Verses display mode (as in your screen shot). You must enter the versions separated by commas.

I don't know why the search panel would 'forget' your previous settings. Did you clear them at some point?

Ok Mark, you'll probably notice I've edited this if you get a reply by e-mail. I was looking where to put the various translations I wanted and after I posted, I found it. Somehow I feel I must have cleared the Search Panel. That's the only thing that makes sense. Anyway, to my knowledge, I think I have everything working ok. If not, I'll come back crying on your shoulder. Thanks for the help - much appreciated!

Well, one thinks everything is back to normal but typing in a phrase this morning, notice how the verses come up under Verses ... can one explain why these verses are aligned vertical and no horizontal? I type in for instance, "beginning God" and the verses come up in a horizontal position - type in "out of the eater" it comes up vertical, as seen in the picture. Is Logos supposed to do this?

Logos will do this if the window isn't wide enough to show the different versions side-by-side.

When you open a new search panel it will end up in one of your current "groups of panels" at the width of the panels in that group.

So you would need to have a set of panels open at the required width and then "drag" the search icon to it so it opens in the correct area.

Hope this makes sense.

I've just done a quick test and in a panel less than half the width of my laptop screen I can get four versions side-by-side so I am a little surprised you saw the problem in the first place.

What size screen do you have?

Thank you Graham for your reply. I have a 17.3" Laptop. Permit me to ask the question this way - is there a way to set the Search pane to a default size? I'm not sure as to how to set up various panels but if there's a video that you know of, you can point me to that if that will make it easier.

But it's setting the Search pane at a default width that I'm after. If there is no way to set that, this will be ok. I'm going to be out for a bit but will look forward to your furthered instructions. Thanks!

Actually Bootjack could use the odd Logos program logic where they always put a new search into a specific pane on the top window.

In my layout, I tested where they always put the search; you have to use a little trial and error. Then I made that pane's width what I wanted (I keep a couple of searches always open in that pane as tabs, and then all my right-click searches end up there too stack in a row).

The right-click BWS's always go to that same pane too, so it's convenient.

Thanks DMB for the suggestion. I think Mark as answered the question that I was asking. I thought through near the end of this ordeal, Logos might have something in the settings where we *might* be able to set a pane at a particular size. Apparently it cannot and I'm definitely ok with that.
