Word Google Docs and Bookbuilder

I have a document I am working on which I have successfully turned into a Personal Book in Logos. My Word Processor of choice is Google Docs. I export every chapter from Google Docs into Word .docx format and then import into Logos. The only thing missing from this is that Logos does not recognise the Headings that I have created in Google Docs. Hence my documents are imported without Headings and hence without a Table of Contents. Is there a way to circumvent this problem?

I've never used Google Docs, BUT how much extra time would it take to then "do" the Heading styles once the material is in the word docx. file?

[I realize you are probably asking for an "instantly" done solution rather than this second step?]

Do the headings you have created in Google Docs actually come across when you export into Word? If not, maybe that's a problem in the Google Docs export process. It's not something Logos has any control over or can circumvent. I don't see any other way around it but to manually apply the Heading styles in Word once you've exported from Google Docs.

The idea of reformatting the documents in Word did occur to me. I have two problems with this:

* Each of my Google Document chapters is a separate document and Word on Mac has no way to merge multiple docs into a single document (unless one inserts one doc into another which is a long and tedious process).

* When I open docs created in Google in Word after they have been imported, the Hebrew text goes funny on me (Word for Mac does not fully support languages like Hebrew).

A Logos Personal Book can have many source files.

LibreOffice is a free alternative to Word. LibreOffice has complex text layout options that handles Hebrew appropriately on OS X.

I don't have Google Docs, but does it export to HTML?

I also do my notes outside DOCX. I use an HTML export as a solid converter to DOCX. Since it's text based, I also have no issues with unexpected characters, etc.

Problem solved! I exported my documents in html format from Google Docs and reformatted the headings in Libre Office. I then saved as a docx and created my Personal Book. It has 49 chapters and all headings appear correctly. You guys are great!
